Q: What is the process if I hire YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC to do research on my Family History ?

A: Once you have chosen YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC to do your family history and returned the agreement between us, YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will provide you their HISTORICAL DISCOVERY CHART to complete. This Chart is easy to complete and will provide YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC the known (or assumed) information you and/or your family has gathered to date.

Note: YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will begin its process by verifying any of the information you have provided that is not verified to date.

Included in your package is a one-on-one COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION (up to one hour) to discuss your completed HISTORICAL DISCOVERY CHART. This consultation provides an opportunity for you to educate YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC on experiences, stories or life-highlights of family members that may be effective to our research. Furthermore, this consultation also provides you the opportunity to evaluate with YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC the course of concentration in the research, i.e. Paternal or Maternal, and the projection of success and alternatives.

YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC then proceeds to utilize all of it resources and affiliates to research your family history on the concentrated path of lineage you requested and for the length of time you have requested. If at any time YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC judges it impractical to continue the course, we will discuss with you further research paths to follow. The process completes once YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC has researched your family history for the number of hours you have requested. And additionally we organize it for you presenting you that research formatted as agreed in the package chosen.

 

Q: How do I determine which YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC Research Package is best for me and my family?

A: During the HISTORICAL DISCOVERY CHART COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION, you and YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will discuss and evaluate the possibilities of your research and any activity you have discovered to date, and the future direction of the research you want to take. A portion of what you are purchasing in choosing YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC is their expertise. YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC is knowledgeable in what resources are available and how to filter through them in your behalf. Combining the information you have provided and the knowledge, expertise and resources of YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will clarify which package suits not only the amount of information you want to get, but the potential in achieving it. Please note however, that although YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIV E LLC will suggest and advise you regarding researching your family history at the time of consultation, we do not, nor cannot, guarantee the finding of any information, nor timelines to discover details you have requested.

 

Q: What if I purchase a package and YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC requires more time to research in order to complete my request?

A: Although YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC has in the past, and will continue to provide a “few” COMPLIMENTARY hours to you if we feel close to an answer or source, there may be additional time you may need for us to finish a pursuit of research. In such cases, you and YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will agree on the amount of additional time at the same hourly rate as the package you have chosen, with 10 hours being the minimum.

 

Q: Besides the YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC Package Price chosen, are there any other possible additional charges I should be aware of?

A: Yes. At times, the nature of Genealogical Research requires validation through vital records such as Birth, Marriage, or Death Certificates (BMD), some of which may be International. Additional information on your family and/or verification can also be obtained from newspaper articles, military cards, cemetery records, and other types of records. Many, if not most, of these records charge for time and processing to be forwarded. Most of these charges range from $25-$50 each. Because every client’s needs for Vital Records are different, the charges for these records can be detailed in our agreement for a pre-approved limit of $200. These charges are not included in the Package price. Any additional charges over and above the clients pre-approved figure of $200 will need the clients approval (Please see our Terms and Conditions). YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will notify the client prior to the purchase of any chargeable records above the pre-approved limit of $20. Please NOTE all of the Vital Records discovered, purchased, and/or otherwise retained by YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC will be presented to you in the format(s) you requested based on the Package your purchased. Any records YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC have had to purchase will be forwarded to the client once they have been billed and paid for under separate cover unless payment has been received prior to the completed package ordered is delivered to the client.

 

Q. How long will it take for YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC to get my research done?

A. Obviously, this answer varies because each individual’s family history is so unique. How long your research takes depends on:

  1. The amount and credibility of the information you provide in the initial stage on your HISTORICAL DISCOVERY CHART.
  2. The specific centuries and years that require researching and the availability of vital records for them.
  3. Specific geographical locations that need to be researched and the ease of their access.
  4. How quickly all vital record agencies contacted can provide us the information we request.

 

It is the philosophy of YOUR ANCESTRY DETECTIVE LLC that it is better to spend the time to verify the information we are presenting you and your family at whatever the time cost. In general, most of our clients are presented their completed research between 8 – 16 weeks.
